OTHER THOUGHTS:   I ordered two of these toilets for a home that his being re-habbed. One is currently installed (how nice not to have to squat out back!). The toilets in the home were broken and unusable (in addition to being disgusting). I also ordered the levers in the colors selected; however, that was unnecessary as the chrome lever that came with it was just fine. I thought I had to order a lever in addition. The products arrived quickly, well-packaged and without any shipping issues. My transaction was perfect in every way--one can buy with confidence from National Builder. The toilet works great. Everyone who asks what type of toilet I installed immediately identifies with the quality of a Toto. It is my first Toto toilet, but this brand/model will be a go-to for any future rehabs.

PROS: Easy to Install,Great Design,Functional,Works Great
OTHER THOUGHTS:   This is the second Toto Drake I have bought. The first one has been installed two years, and they are is so much better than the Kohlers they replaced. There is no need to have a plunger sitting by for regular plunging. This toilet will flush anything. The cycle time is much faster than the Kohlers also.

OTHER THOUGHTS:   Toilet bowl rim is not level with the toilet tank so you have to choose which you want to have level. In my case since we have a banjo countertop over it, the tank needed to be level otherwise it is very noticeable in relation to the countertop. Unfortunately did not realize the tank/bowl discrepency until bowl was installed so had to re-do it. Also, the tank lid is sort of cheap they way it sits on the tank. But overall a very good product that works excellent.

"Toto toilet and slow closing seat"

PROS: Put one in a few years ago, its fabulous, flushes everything with small amount of water, quiet, reliable, nice looking, what else do want from a toilet. Just put in a new one in other bathroom, I wouldnt use any other toilet, especially the name brands from Home Depot, and the one I purchased from National was $248 compared to $400 locally & free UPS
OTHER THOUGHTS:   National was under $250 free UPS, local dealer was over $400, for same exact toilet. Dont buy anything but a Toto, I have no vested interest in Toto or National, its just a good toilet. I dont know why A-S and K. cant make a toilet like this...but they cant.

"Great service"

PROS: Washes the bowl! This replaced a Cimarron which we bought because of the large flush valve. It was a turkey as there never was a decent bowl wash. The Drake is wonderful -- great flush (as long as you hold the handle down and give it a chance) and clean bowl. This is our second Drake and if I needed another Id buy it again.
CONS: None so far.
OTHER THOUGHTS:   National Builders service was wonderful. I was concerned about shipping a toilet across country and having it arrive undamaged, but the packing job they did would have survived just about anything. Shipping was quick and I got what I ordered at a reasonable price.

"Drake Elongated Toilet"

PROS: Ease of Install. Efficient use of water. Quickness and efficiency of the flushing operation. The recycle period is very short.
CONS: None.
OTHER THOUGHTS:   This is one great toilet. The G-Max system is so efficient and different from the standard toilet design, it almost sets you back at the beginning because its so fast. I kept wondering how in the world the toilet could manage to remove the waste products so fast and completely. Good design and relatively quiet operation makes this one a keeper for sure.

"Superb Toilet"

REVIEW:   Replaced two toilets in my house with the Toto Drake. Almost bought typical brand from local home and garden store, but decided to research a bit and glad I did. Never heard of Toto, but took a chance based on reviews from others. Works perfect every time. Have never had to flush twice, like I did with old models. Will recommend this model to all my friends. Ordered mine online and got much better deal than at the local distributor, plus it was shipped to my door. Had plumber install mine and took only about an hour per commode. One note, the Toto does not fit flush with the wall. Was not expecting the 1-2" gap, but it does show this in the drawings.

REVIEW:   I had one installed in our master bath in 2000, then one in our 2nd bath in 2007 w/a sanagloss finish. The one in the master started clogging occasionally a couple of years ago and I found it was probably because it had started to degloss below the waterline. I had just the bowl replaced with one with a sanagloss finish a few months ago (with a washlet seat too!) and haven't had any problem since. They flush great, fill fast, and are pretty problem-free. After putting in the Drakes, a plunger didn't have to live in my bathroom anymore!

REVIEW:   Excellent toilet, and the only one to get if you don't want an assisted flush. The only reason I downgraded overall was that this is the only toilet I've owned (10 others) that has a problem with particles sticking to the glaze. I guess they do this so you have to buy the SanaGloss, but it would be nice to read a review ahead of time warning you. The next one I buy will be a Toto, though, with SanaGloss.

REVIEW:   Had one problem with clogging. Toilet clogged after being loaded with a bunch of used kleenexes. Could not claer with plunger, and snake was too large to feed into toilet. Clog finally yielded to a coat hanger wire. We now know better than to disposed of kleenex wads, etc. in this toilet. Other than this quirk, the toilet works up to expectations.

REVIEW:   Re Model CST744S We moved into our new home in April 2005 and the problems started immediately with the builder-installed toilets. Exasperated at having to flush 1-3 times, wasting water and constantly using the plunger, we decided to replace them with the highly advertised American Standard Champion Flush... until we read all the negative reviews on-line. Then we discovered TOTO. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive. So we tried them out. NOT ONE PROBLEM SINCE THEN. My sister has since replaced two in her new home with TOTO models and my neighbor up the street used all TOTO models in their bathrooms. Don't even hesitate! You can't go wrong with TOTOs.

REVIEW:   We just replaced two twenty-two year old toilets, which required 2 to 3 flushes before everything went down, with two of these babies. Is it possible to fall in love with a toilet? One flush....gone! Clean bowl, very quiet, and only 1.6 gallons. I'll be sure to use these in every house we buy from now on. Also bought the soft close seats and lids, which are unbelievable. I'm a hard grader, but nothing less than 10 would be an honest evaluation.

REVIEW:   After many years of dealing with a guest bathroom toilet that clogged so regularly it was almost a daily occurrence, I have recently installed a Toto Drake. After removing a 5 year old Kohler 1.6, I fully expected to see some evidence of a occluded waste pipe. This wasn't the case, in fact the pipe was so clean I could still see the purple joint primer. Just to make sure, I chased the drain with a 25' snake - again all clear. Once I installed the Toto I must admit I wasn't completely awed by its flush. I was kind of expecting something more dramatic, however, looks can be deceiving. Unlike the Kohler, the Toto just plain works. It's obvious there is some very sound engineering in the design and 1.6 gallons can, and will, get the job done. Right...how much difference can there be in a toilet? Enough that there has not been a single clog, not even a double flush required since the Toto has been on duty! Now the plunger, that was once so prominently displayed, has a new home - in the garage where it belongs.

I have not had 1 clog in the past 3 years, and am so impressed by these toilets that I told my wife we would be replacing the toilets in our next house with Toto's. The Drake is great and hasn't clogged yet dispite our young kids and several parties! Strong and fast flush. We plan to replace the rest of our toilets with Drakes and Ultramax models. Soft close seat is great although I'm finding it hard to remember not to let go of the seats of other toilets without this feature! A little harder to clean around this seat, but no big deal. The seat is a little bit narrow, which might be uncomfortable for larger folks, but is fine for our family. You could get another brand seat.
